The international community is crafting a new global development agenda that will affect the lives and wellbeing of billions of people for decades to come. The High-Level Task Force for the International Conference on Population and Development is committed to a world where all human rights are protected and every individual enjoys equal opportunities, freedoms and choices.

The Task Force's mission is to advance gender equality and the human rights of women and girls, the rights and participation of young people, and sexual and reproductive health and rights for all, through the ICPD Beyond 2014 and the Post-2015 Development Agenda, and related processes such as the 20-year review of the Beijing Platform for Action.

Task Force Members

The High-Level Task Force for the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), co-chaired by former Presidents Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique and Tarja Halonen of Finland, is an independent body of 26 distinguished leaders with records of service as heads of state, ministers and parliamentarians, civil society, private sector and philanthropic leaders.

Members serve in their individual capacities to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality and the empowerment of women and young people through the ICPD Beyond 2014 process and the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
