The stakes could hardly be higher

The High-Level Task Force for the ICPD was mandated from 2012-2016 to provide a bold, authoritative voice to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality and the human rights of women and girls, and the rights and participation of young people, through the ICPD Beyond 2014, Post-2015 Development Agenda and related UN processes, such as the Beijing+20 review. This ‘legacy’ website, preserved as it was during the Task Force’s operation, contains policy materials and resources that users may continue to find useful in their ongoing work.

Task Force Members

The High-Level Task Force for the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), co-chaired by former Presidents Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique and Tarja Halonen of Finland, is an independent body of 25 distinguished leaders with records of service as heads of state, ministers and parliamentarians, civil society, private sector and philanthropic leaders.

Members serve in their individual capacities to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality and the empowerment of women and young people through the ICPD Beyond 2014 process and the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
